This course introduces you to the world of Intellectual Property and will give you a foundational understanding of the different types of Intellectual Property in the United States. This course has a special focus on the patent process, requirements for patents, ways in which a patent might be rejected and how to respond to a rejection, and best practices regarding working with clients.
The course is designed so that you can access and complete the lessons in any order. Most of the lessons will include a Knowledge Check quiz, and you are allowed to take the quizzes multiple times until you have achieved a passing score of 80% or higher.
Upon completing all of the lessons with a passing score, you can receive a Certificate of Completion to document your competency with the content.
We recommend that you begin the course by starting with the Patent Primer lesson. This provides a broad overview of Intellectual Property and will help provide a context for the other lessons in the academy. Once you complete a lesson, use the navigation at the bottom of the page to move to the next (or previous) lesson, or click on the “breadcrumb” menu at the top of the page to return to this course home page.
