SLW Academy IP Certification Course: For High School Students

This course introduces you to the world of Intellectual Property and will give you a foundational understanding of Intellectual Property in the United States. This course introduces patents and trademarks, and explains the process of obtaining a patent in the United States.

The course is designed so that you can access and complete the lessons in any order. Each lesson includes a Knowledge Check quiz, and you are allowed to take the quizzes multiple times until you have achieved a passing score of 80% or higher.
Upon completing all of the quizzes with a passing score, you can receive a Certificate of Completion* to document your competency with the content.

We recommend that you begin the course by starting with the Patent Primer lesson. This provides a broad overview of Intellectual Property and will help provide a context for the other lessons in the academy.
